Morley's Final Catalogue: Suffolk, teste W.C. Hewitson Esq. (Stephens, Illust, ii, 1828, p.72). Of frequent occurrence, though rarer than formerly (cp. Ent. Wk. Intell. x, 1861,27); no recent record from west Suffolk, except at Worlington in 1925 et seqq. (Whit). Annually scarce at Waldringfield (Wlr); Felixstow and Nacton (Gibbs); Bentley and Barnby (Vinter); Dodnash, Ipswich, Belton, Gorleston, etc

Recent Suffolk status: Almost exclusively found in the Breck and along the coastal belt.

Life history: Single-brooded in early summer.

Identification: Unmistakable. Sometimes seen by day but most records are of adults to light.

Habitat: Open woodland, heathland, grassland and gardens.

Recorded in 32 (55%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1918.
Last Recorded in 2024.
